It will be big surprise when you will see on a map that Oswiecim well know because of Auschwitz-Birkenau is much closer than famous Cracow.
There was a strong purpose why this city has been choosen for such a great things and events!
My name is Anna and my entire life I live in Katowice, capital of Upper Silesia Direct in Poland. I’m a super fan of my city which was the most industry part of a country few decades ago and with big success change to culture capital of the country. I would like to take you to our culture zone which has been placed on fields after coal mine. One of the most successful transformation from industry in the world.
For me It’s very special place because my mother was working in this coal mine when I was a child. I remember when I visit her at work. Now we have amazing museum here. They show very nice history exhibitions - which is pretty interesting. Plenty of nations fights for a centries for this area (look on a map, it’s exactly in mid-Europe, so everyone want’s to have area in their hands). I have some favourite stuff there. Love the non-professional paintings about Silesia and temporary exhibitions.
I always checking what is going on in our culture zone. List of events it’s enourmous and during the year everyone will find something interesting, especially when it comes to music events but we are hosting such kind of events like world computer games championship or volleball.
I’m a silnge mother, so we are always go around with my two boys.
Just behind me, on the right side of photo there is Spodek which is “flying saucer”. This is sign of our city but in fact this is event and sport hall. Let’s go inside some of this places. Let’s go deeper to the culture zone!

There is a volleyball match. Entire world is thrilled when it comes to battle here as we have the laudest supporter fans We won world championship here!
At end I would like to confirm that I’m super fan of my area. This weekend in this townhall (where COP24 was in '18 which I mention at the begin) one of the events will be scrapbooking hobby fans.
