Every block of every city has a hidden gem and it's up to local guides to find them.

Responding to the prompt: Tell us what you love sharing most on Google Maps and why.

I almost have as much fun planning a trip as going on one, and use google for every step. Between easily finding flights with Google Flights, collaborating with my travel partners using Google Docs / Maps it’s never been easier and more enjoyable.

When you “google” food near me there’s overwhelming options. Everyone knows if you go to the 5 star fancy restaurant you will find good cuisine (albeit maybe not unique). It’s not hard to find a good steak, fancy pasta place, etc. As a millennial I’m always on the hunt for the perfect price point for delicious food and memorable experiences.

Being a local guide lets me find these places and share them with others, no matter where in the world I am! Leaving honest feedback about my experience, making sure the online information is correct, and making sure the information is easy to find is the least I can do for other travelers, as well as the business owners!

There are so many unique restaurants in every town, that not even locals, let alone tourists, have been to that are must try places!

From farm to table fresh Asian Fusion like Umami in Northwood New Hampshire to a small fry shack Wee Chippy with award winning fries on Venice Beach CA. Without Google Maps I might never find or be able to share these places I’ve come to love.

I wish everybody who’s been to a hole in the wall or secret gem in their town would share it, because the world could use a little more exposure.
