I am writing to highlight an issue that appear time by time, but that is now constant: I cannot report a photo on the web version of Google Maps on desktop. I always receive an error 500
I normally use my mobile to report issues in Google maps, because the reporting process on Desktop is boring and take a lot of time, you have to submit an email (why, as you are already logged in?) and to confirm that you are not a robot
However, time by time (especially when I am in Connect) if I see something wrong I don’t want to restart all the procedure on mobile, only to find a content that need to be reported, so I try to do submit the report on Desktop, always unsuccessfully.
Can a Google Moderator ( @Bobiisha ) please submit the issue to the team? I’ve tried to report the issue by myself, but the report link send me on the main page of Google Help, so the link is totally useless.
However, @Bobiisha I recently receive this error when I try to report a photo on the web version (desktop) of Google Maps. In my case the issue is not related to this thread so I will write a separate post
The problem is genuine @ErmesT
Even changing the browser doesn’t resolve that.
Nevertheless, nowadays If I want to report a photo on the desktop, I go through the browser route.
Here is a screenshot.
The method doesn’t ask me to include either an email ID or prove that I am not a robot.
Further, on click, I receive a message " Thanks for your feedback".
However, whether reporting is effective or not? That’s uncertain.
In any case, that doubt is always there to me when I report through the app too.
PS: The intention of this comment is not to subvert the problem but to help resolve that though the comparison of events occurring after reporting through this alternate route.
However, I wanted to highlight the existence of an issue when using the “conventional” reporting way (the one mentioned on the help page) because this can be frustrating for a lot of local guides.
