Enjoy the Pacific beach at Ocean Shores, West Washington

If you are in Seattle or Washington, it might interest you to drive to this lovely beach. I had a really fun time strolling along the Ocean Shores beach. Ocean Shores is a small coastal city located in west of Washington State. It’s known for its long Pacific beach and network of navigable lakes and waterways. In the north there are pine trees and dunes of Ocean City State Park and migratory birds. In the South there is Oyhut Wildlife Recreation Area and Damon Point which are nesting sites for snowy plovers. I had a very good time with my cousins and mom strolling and photographed the beach. We were a bit late so haven’t done any other activities, except walking a bit on the beach and then had dinner at the local diner. It is where I enjoyed Clum Chowder for the first time which I start to love.

Distance from Seattle

It is about 132 miles from Seattle to reach Ocean Shores, through I-5 S which takes about 2 hr 20 min. To reach there, people have to cross Tacoma and Olympia.

Important features

  • There are abundance migratory birds, especially seagulls who would come to greet people for food, e.g bread and others.
  • A long beach with many freshwater canals, and an extensive collection of state parks and of course a view of beautiful sunset
  • Enjoy fresh seafood at the local diners

What people can do at Ocean Shores:

  • Walk or drive along the beach and enjoy its surrounding: seagulls and waves
  • Hike Damon Point
  • Catch Some Waves – Wind surfing
  • Explore Ocean City State Park
  • Discover Griffiths-Priday State Park & Copalis Beach
  • Check Out Roosevelt Beach Access
  • Enjoy a Beach Day at Seabrook Beach
  • Reconnect with Nature at Pacific Beach State Park

Beware of cold and windy temperature: dress properly to enjoy the outdoor!

I love the photos of the seagulls @Sophia_Cambodia They are very fun and I love how as soon as you take out food, the seagulls all flock and fly around you.

This area of Ocean Shores looks so relaxing. I wish I could just move my office desk out to sit by the sea…of course maybe in warmer weather.

You made it sound so relaxing and I imagine the next time I go there I will bring a desk and a laptop, probably very funny to look at that @AZ_2021

Oh, I heard in Summer it is always crowded. I was there in April, less people but it was so cold. Some people had to quickly claim back to their car. Thank you :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you @AnithaM I visited this place in April, even though it was sunny, but it was windy, so it was colder than usual.

The seagulls were abundance so very exciting to spread the bread and they all come around just like in the photos!

Seeing your article after a small gap…

Firstly, excellent photos… Really beautiful…

“Pacific beach at Ocean Shores”… Nicely conceived and presented post - congratulations… Appreciate very much.

Quite compact post, suitable for current LG Connect trend.

Subtitles ‘Important Features’ & ‘What people can do at Ocean Shores’ - both are interesting.

Hallo @Sophia_Cambodia
