I had an amazing opportunity to participate in the recent Local Guides Contributors Conversations held in Gurugram. About 40 local guides from across India gathered in this event. We were welcomed by @Kristen_NYC and given a glimpse of the new features of Google Maps.
I was thrilled to be invited to join a panel of moderators to share my thoughts on the Local Guides Connect program and platform. It was a great chance to contribute my insights and perspectives.
Fighting Review Scams: My discussion with the Map team was very productive. In particular, the discussion with @David_K (Geo UGC Community Lead) about the review scam was very important. I showed him some documents about this scam, and he assured me the problem would be solved soon.
During my visit to Tokyo last year, I informed the map team about a fraud scam in the Q&A section of Google Maps, and now the scam has been removed.
New features for India: In a discussion with Aanal Gosh (Product Lead, India), I learned that Google Maps is going to bring many new features to Indian users. In particular, issues such as narrow roads and wrong driving directions are being focused on. AI-based road detection features are going to be launched which will prove to be very useful for Indian map users.
Celebrating Local Guides: The discussion with @Latika_Malhotra (Product Marketing Manager, Community, India) emphasized the importance of local guides. I suggested that people who have been contributing to Connect over the years should be encouraged more. Annual Connect live or region-wise events should be organized, and Local Guides active on Connect should be given priority to participate in such events.
I’m thrilled about the future of Google Maps in India and the positive impact that Local Guides can have. I’m also curious to hear your thoughts.
Well captured details @NareshDarji. Thanks for sharing.
Indeed, it was a great learning experience for everyone attending Contributors Conversation 2024 at Google Office, Gurugram, India.
Very informative and interesting post, dear @NareshDarji.
Your conversation was brilliant and valuable - your interactions were active -
Congratulations!
Happy that I also could join this session.
I shall be writing my feedback again, shortly.
Regards with prayers
This is very insightful and informative @NareshDarji
In the future meet ups you can ask the googlers to encourage more level 7 & 8 people to do meet ups in their states and cites with guidance of level 9 & 10 local guides as that would be a learning curve. Also, if a person has multiple business in his name and wants to connect all in one place and earn money make profits there should be a feature to merge atleast 5 business in one GMB account with updation of details on Google maps. What do you think?
Thank you @NareshDarji ji for this wonderful post. You nicely narrated the event in detail with colour full photos. It was truly a great occasion to meet our LG friends and Google team.
Requesting that in India we need and want more n more this kind such events meet-ups and all. because this kind of sessions are connecting to us(each other’s) and sharing individual experiences with Maps, Connect & all.
It was indeed insightful conversation with the googlers and fellow local guides from all over India. I will definately express my views very shortly here, @NareshDarji bhai!
It was great attending contributor conversation 2024 @NareshDarji, we all together got to know about new features new updates and to meet and. Greet to other local guides, this type of events encourage local guides to contribute more and I hope so we will have many events like this in future
Thanks Naresh Bhai you have definitely highlighted some important issues, indeed the review thing goes too far sometimes and everyone knows that reviews are the first thing a person observes before avail services or products. I think most guides can already notice the problems in reviews just by looking at them. New features are always exciting in Google maps.
You had Insightful conversations. We look forward to the enhancements and more opportunities to connect with each other. Probably some virtual events with Googlers for connect or map contributors would be an interesting thought.! Thanks for sharing @NareshDarji
@NareshDarji

And because you,My money got save other wise.I was getting trapped booking online hotel.
My best wishes to you.
Dear community leaders,
I have one thought, which I have been applying for the past 3 years.
I use GMaps for a virtual tour for psychological patients as they are not able to move out so they enjoy my all-virtual tour with great enthusiasm. I am sharing my meetups and a few pics with them
Hi @NareshDarji you are really doing a commendable work as a Moderator. It would be really nice if such meetups happen in South India. It is more expensive and time consuming to attend meetups happening there.
