What a way to end the year 2025!
I decided to spend my final sunset of the year at the Kunnathur Sivan Temple near Varichiyur, and it was a truly soulful experience.
Perched on a quiet hillock in Kunrathur village, these ancient cave temples feel like a hidden portal to the past. Walking through the Udayagiri and Asthagiri caves, I was surrounded by history dating back to 750 A.D. These rocks once sheltered Jain monks before becoming a sacred home for Lord Shiva.
The highlight for me was seeing the ancient Tamil Brahmi inscriptions and the intricate carvings of Ganesha and Nandi as the sky began to change colors. Watching the sun dip below the horizon from this elevated spot was breathtaking—the golden hour light hitting the ancient stone made the whole atmosphere feel divine.

It was the perfect, peaceful reset to end the year on a high note.

2025 has been fascinating
in that it brought us together as local guides, the first time at the Bengaluru Mega Meetup and then again later
