Empowering Local Guides: Recognizing Contributions with Tangible Reward

Local Guides play an essential role in making our communities stronger and more connected by sharing their knowledge, experiences, and insights. To further empower these valuable contributors, it would be amazing if we could offer tangible rewards like cash or even cryptocurrency as incentives. These benefits would not only recognize the time and effort that Local Guides put into helping others, but also encourage more people to participate, creating a richer, more vibrant platform for all.

Let’s continue to support and motivate those who make a difference in our local and global communities! Together, we can build something even greater.

Hi @bishtanil107 and welcome to Connect! There are many articles like yours here, that is about whether LocalGuides should be compensated in some way. First of all, the LocalGuide program is voluntary, we do not become Google employees and what matters is the sense of community that being a LocalGuide creates in the user. What you post on Maps and here on Connect can certainly be of help to someone else. You continue to contribute with quality and consistency, and you will see that one day it will be clear to you what it means to be a LocalGuide!

Bye,
David

And if I can give you one more piece of advice, check carefully what you publish on Google Maps: photos with minors (even if they are your children or relatives), selfies, and repetitive photos are against Google’s terms. I took a look at your Maps profile and you should delete a lot of photos to avoid being banned from the LocalGuide program one day. Here you can read about the terms of LocalGuide program : Local Guides community policy
