Empowering Indian Villages

Had an amazing experience sharing my knowledge around maps and LG with local people from this small village called Zingle in Sikkim. All of them had smartphones but have never used google maps though the app was already installed. We added two new places as well, a temple and a school. I hope they can make good use of this platform to share stories from their world. world.S some photos below:

Let’s empower villages around India and make them digital.

Stay crazy

Hello @Saurabh_Narang ,

This is great news! Thank you for sharing your experience!

Not only you guys had fun but also added some new places on Google Maps.

Let’s see what stories your friends will share here on Connect! I am sure they all have something to tell us about.

@MoniDi all my pleasure  My bad, I didn’t introduce them about connect. But, I hope they would find their way to connect and use this platform as well. However, I would make sure to talk about connect in other similar workshops. I am planning to conduct such workshops and take LG to villages around India. Can you please advise how to get this project supported by Google?

Hello @Saurabh_Narang ,

Thanks for asking. What you could do is host or plan a Meet-up. I recommend reading this post here which gives you helpful ideas on the types of activities you can plan and some guidance and tips for helping you organise a successful event for yourself and the Local Guides in your area!

Of course there are no guarantees that the LG community has a large contingent in your area but don’t be discouraged. This post has a ton of advice for persons like yourself that are interested in planning a Meet-up.

Best of luck to you!
