Embarking on Tranquility: A Day at Oasis Village in Qarun Lake, Faiyum, Egypt

I recently had the pleasure of discovering the Oasis Village at Lake Qarun, and let me tell you, it’s nothing short of a hidden gem in the heart of Egypt.

Accompanied by my friends, we set out for a day of exploration, arriving at the oasis around 11 am and immersing ourselves in the serenity until 8:00 PM. The experience was nothing short of magical, and I can’t wait to share the enchantment with you.

Nestled about 80 km southwest of Cairo, the Oasis Village is a haven of tranquility on the shores of Lake Qarun, one of Egypt’s largest saltwater lakes. The moment we arrived, the beauty of the surroundings captured our hearts. Traditional mud-brick houses adorned the village, embraced by palm trees and lush gardens, creating a picturesque setting that felt like a scene from a dream.

Our day unfolded with the option to explore the lake through a boat tour, indulge in some fishing, or simply bask in the peaceful ambiance.

The view, especially during the sunset, was a spectacle to behold, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, reflecting on the serene waters. It truly is the perfect spot to relax, clear your mind, and soak in the beauty of nature.

What sets the Oasis Village apart is its rich cultural tapestry. Inhabited mainly by Bedouin residents, the village resonates with traditional crafts like pottery, weaving, and basket-making.

We had the privilege of observing these crafts in action, and naturally, couldn’t resist bringing home some beautifully handmade souvenirs—a tangible piece of the village’s unique identity.

A short distance away lies Wadi El-Rayan, a protected area boasting two large lakes connected by a breathtaking waterfall. It’s a hub for various activities, from swimming to picnicking and hiking, offering a perfect extension to our day at the oasis.

In conclusion, the Oasis Village at Lake Qarun is not just a destination; it’s a journey into the soul of Egypt. It encapsulates the essence of Bedouin culture, allowing visitors to witness tradition in action while reveling in the natural beauty that defines the region.

@TusharSuradkar This oasis located in my hometown city, I have ancient lake which is called Qarun Lake from ancient times, in the next couple of days, I will post more places in that lake they are now like small villages or resorts some with old designs and some with new design, also will post article about Wadi El Rayan which was in the past on the oceans but now it’s dessert land

Mir haben die Taubentürme vom Aussehen gut gefallen. In Deutschland gibt es natürlich auch Taubenzüchter mit ganz speziellen Tauben. Zudem gibt es aber auch sehr viele Wildtauben und diese sind bei vielen Menschen nicht beliebt. Sie werden auch Ratten der Lüfte genannt. Diese Tauben bekommen auch Anti Baby Pillen damit sie sich nicht so stark vermehren und historische Bauwerke mit ihrem Kot verätzen. Damit sieht man mal wieder wie unterschiedlich die Bedürfnisse sind.
