Elebrating Fruits & Boosting Economy at National Fruit Fair 2025! 🥭

Hello fellow Local Guides!

I’m thrilled to share our wonderful experience from the National Fruit Fair 2025 (জাতীয় ফল মেলা ২০২৫) held at Khamarbari, Dhaka, which concluded yesterday, June 21st! Our Bangladesh Local Guides (BDLG) community organized a fantastic meetup there, bringing together 12 enthusiastic Local Guides from Dhaka. :men_holding_hands: :woman_and_man_holding_hands:

It was an incredible opportunity to explore the vibrant fair, which was brimming with the rich diversity of Bangladesh’s seasonal fruits. We spent our time discovering various stalls, marveling at the unique fruit displays, and, of course, tasting some of the freshest and most delicious fruits available!

Beyond the enjoyment, our discussions during the meetup centered around a very important topic: the significance of fruits in our lives, not just for health and nutrition, but also for Bangladesh’s economy. We talked about how the abundance of summer fruits and events like this fair play a crucial role in supporting our agricultural sector, empowering local farmers, and boosting the overall economy. It was inspiring to see so many local varieties and learn about their contribution to the nation. :chart_increasing: :sparkles:

The fair’s ending session was also very special, with awards being presented to various stalls – a well-deserved recognition for their efforts in promoting our indigenous fruits. To cap off our memorable day, we had a delightful photo session, capturing the beauty of various fruits and, of course, a group photo to remember this fruitful gathering!

It’s truly amazing how events like the National Fruit Fair not only connect us with nature’s bounty but also highlight the economic backbone of our country. We, as Local Guides, are proud to help showcase such initiatives on Google Maps!

Here are some photos from our meetup:

"Thank you, @NandKK ! I completely agree – it truly was a meaningful celebration that went beyond just enjoyment, highlighting the importance of health, sustainability, and supporting our local agriculture. Your insights really hit the nail on the head. :innocent:

Regarding unique fruits, I was particularly impressed by the “Safeda” (White Sapote). While not entirely unknown, it’s definitely less common than our usual mangoes or jackfruits. Its creamy texture and delicate, sweet flavor, almost like a custardy pear, really stood out. It’s always a delight to discover such hidden gems at these fairs! :hugs:

Thanks for your thoughtful comment and the great question!" :innocent:
