Planning a trip to Egypt is particularly stressful because Google Maps is not in wide use. Also hotels change their names often, I think for tax purposes. After I spent a week there I realised the other reason: nobody uses Google Maps because they are breaking the law all the time. One way streets mean nothing, red lights mean nothing, they are all taking routes which are completely different to anything Google Maps could legally suggest.
Not sure how to improve it other than what I did which was my job as a local guide, one step at a time, one review and one photo at a time. But it is a shame, such a truly great tourist destination that misses out due to not taking advantage of Google Maps.
