Edits not applied

I am local guide (level 5) for mumbai. Last month I was at faridabad, I am at the particulart establishment (location) and updated establishment’s location on google map. Now google map say “NOT APPLIED” Google couldn’t verify my edit.

Same happened for another edit at Mumbai chembur.

My view is when I am editing the place being at the same place why google is not trusting my edit.

Non versification is not the justification of not applied. Google guide (level 5) is posting edit has to have some wattage, only negative verification should have importance above this.

There are tons of reasons for an edit not to be approved, but basically this means that the system wasn’t able to verify the information added by you, @ucmehta

For more information you can read: Why is my edit status “Pending” or “Not Applied”?

What I can tell you is: Keep it simple.

When I ad a place, I only add the basic information (Name, category, address) and, when prompted by Google Maps, I submit a clear photo of the storefront.

Adding extra information means that ALL the information need to be verified together and, if this is not possible, the edit will be not applied

Hello @ucmehta

Appreciate your efforts to create new POIs. That helps users to locate the right places.

At the same time, one needs to ensure some due diligence while doing so. Else the maps cleanup will become a disproportionate activity!

The POI Manorath Engineering works already exists on the map. See the screenshot below.

It’s always better to check the existence of a POI by zooming in and out before rushing to create that.

BTW I note a successful edit in your screenshot that of Manokamna building. Apparently, that appears to be a private housing block. However, currently, Maps displays the category as a lodging. Trust, the category is correct. Else visitors will be thronging that place for overnight accommodation.

Hello @ucmehta ,

Thank you for reaching out and I hope that the provided answers by @ErmesT and @C_T helped you in order to have some clear view on the issue.

I am going to accept the answer of @ErmesT as a solution. Furthermore, I am going to change the title a bit in order to make it more clear and easily understandable to everyone.

Dear @ucmehta

I strongly suggest that you share one or two examples here (with all the data) of what you are trying to achieve.

Looking at your screen-capture it makes no sense to me, including the one edit that was approved. Manokamna seems a rather strange name for a “lodging” business. Are you sure that this place belongs on Google Maps? You didn’t add a picture of the business when you added it to the map, which by itself is not great.

The POI with the name “New address” also seems rather strange. Even more confusing is the fact that it looks like you tried to edit the map marker, the address and marked it as doesn’t exist in a single edit. Please explain, as I am very curious about what you were trying to achieve.

Last but not least, please note that your Local Guides Level has no impact on the verification process. What does affect the decision to either approve or not apply your edit suggestion is your so-called “trust-score” which you earn by consistently making solid quality contributions.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Warm regards, JeroenM

Hey Team, I m a consistent Lvl 7 Local guide & as evident my edits are not being applied from past few months. Solve this ASAP as I am adding new places in my area which are gonna help people a lot & in turn the Google Maps.

This is a serious problem with especially map marker and needs an urgent attention to save time of the local guides who wants to make clear and comprehensive contributions.

As many as not applied response discourages the local guides to correct the map markers of the destinations placed in wrong locale.

There has been no solution to rectify or troubleshoot this response for over years now and guess what, it is discouraging.

Please Google kindly do the needful
