This is something that everyone of us is experiencing. It is frustrating, I know, to see that an edit is not applied as you know that you are doing this correctly.

BTW, there is several reason for an edit not to be applied. First of all, an edit need to be verifiable and verified.

Also, in some case, the edits are locked to prevent abuse in certain areas.

Why is my edit status “Pending” or “Not Applied”? will give you a general view of the editing approval procedure.

Also keep in mind that sometime the same edit has been already suggested by someone else previously. In this last case, your edit can be used as a confirmation of the previous edit, and the edit will be attributed to the first Local Guide that suggested it.

Denying an edit is not something against you, so please do not give up. Myself, I can show you a long list of “not applied” edits

A lot of local guides are facing that problem @user_not_found , not becasue there is some bug or error, but because that is the way the system is built.

The most important thing you should realize is that ‘NOT APPLIED’ does not automatically mean ‘the info you provided is incorrect’ but could also be something like ‘our algorithm is currently not good enough to judge if your info is correct or not’ or ‘another ocal guide already submitted this same edit and that one is pending’.

One thing about the multiple times you submitted ‘SMH ENGINEERING WORKS’: if it gets a NOT APPLIED the first time, there is no reason to submit is again multiple times. And by the way: perhaps ‘SMH Engineering Works’ could be a better entry for the name, I think (as the guidelines specifically say that you should not use ALL CAPS).

Forgot to mention @user_not_found : that shop owner you were talking about should definitely claim his business on Maps and then use Googel My Buisness - that will give him full control of his data on Maps.

There is a podcast episode on this topic if you or that business owner want to learn more about it.
