In the past it was possible to delete a post, if the post had “no replies”.
The choice of the team with the migration to the New Connect was to remove this option, that was causing several troubles.
That’s why editing a post cam be important. BTW I can immagine the discomfort when a Local Guide post again and again the same content because the post was caught by the filter.
In this case, my personal tip is to tag a Google Moderator, asking them to remove the duplicate post
