Local guide in France since many years by a sport activity in relation with Google My Maps
At first, I need to explain you where and why this passion comes from.
I practice an acrobatic sport : acrobatics diving on springboards and platforms in swimming pools, and I am also a National Diving Juge of my “French Federation of Natation”. A few years ago, during many diving events in my country, some competitors, their parents and coaches told me that they would like to know where it’s possible to find pools equipped with diving boards in France. There was no inventory about this topic at this time!
Inventory of diving facilities in France, during my vacations
So, during my vacations during summer, since 7 years now, with friends (and by Google search engine!), I started building this inventory of diving facilities located in swimming pools in France (exactly pools which are equipped with a set of springboards and platforms). After each visit in a new swimming pool with diving boards, it was very simple for me: filling Google Items with pictures and contributions about the pool I visited! During these explorations, during my small trips, I discovered also nice places in France!

But that’s not all. In 2015, I discovered the great tool : Google my Maps. So, with this tool, I decided to create a public map in order to locate these diving facilities, in France : I created new points on the map, description of where each site is located, technical description of the equipments, and submitted pictures about the diving boards. Each year, and still today during my vacations in France, I visit new diving installations, and I create new points on my map.

Now, in 2019, this map, and Google’s items of these diving boards have become a reference for My French Federation of Natation. Consequently, this important work - a directory of diving boards - is very useful either for acrobatic diving athletes and for recreational divers (high level elite group, leisure sport, coaches, etc).
Of course, I’m sure, when people want to practice their favorite sport during holidays, all these visitors (not only divers!) can visit in the same time great and lovely places around France, also!
