I visited the Druids Cave in Birchover, England. I like this place as it has history and is very peaceful just to sit down on the boulders and listen to the sounds of nature.
The druids’ cave area dates back to the Bronze Age, around 3300 BC to 1200 BC.
The area has been popular over time and still is to this day; the local village of Birchover is even mentioned in the doomsday book from the 10th century, which is like an old-style diary of England.
Most of the rock carvings were made by a priest named Reverend Thomas Eyre, who was also a druid and did witchcraft at the site in the 17th century. It is said he carved the stones and would sit there for hours, writing and listening to the sounds of nature.
I must say I sat on the throne, and it has a strange feeling knowing that over 300 years ago others did the same and sat there just listening to nature.
Two of the caves were carved by hand by a man named Thomas Eyre; he apparently carved the caves as a place to hang out with his friends, whom he wanted to impress.
There are quite a few carved names in the rocks from the 1800s, and I managed to capture some of them on camera as you can see in the photo below and on the video I filmed.
