Don't Miss Dauna Paula, A Scenic & Most Visited Attraction

Dona Paula, a serene and picturesque spot in Goa, offers more than just stunning views. This famous tourist attraction is steeped in a captivating legend. The site is named after Dona Paula de Menezes, a historical figure shrouded in a tale of unrequited love and tragedy, which has given rise to its popular nickname, the “Lover’s Paradise.”

To reach the main viewpoint, visitors ascend a flight of steps, leading to a charming pavilion. Here, two striking white statues stand atop a rocky outcrop, captivating the attention of all who visit. These figures, representing a man and a woman, are the focal point of the attraction and are said to be the spirits of Dona Paula and her lover, forever united in stone.

From the top, the panoramic views are breathtaking. The Arabian Sea stretches out to the horizon, dotted with colorful fishing boats and pleasure cruises. The adjoining bay, with its lush green hills and charming coastal buildings, creates a truly idyllic scene. It’s the perfect place to sit and soak in the natural beauty, watch the boats, or simply enjoy a quiet moment.

Dona Paula is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Goa. It perfectly blends natural beauty with a touch of local history and folklore. The short climb is well worth the effort for the magnificent views and the opportunity to reflect on the romantic and tragic story that makes this place so special.

Hi Brother @TusharSuradkar
These statues are installed or were erected in 1967 as image of India, and they were sculpted by renowned Sculptor Yrsa Liestner, so you might have missed.
Anyway, now whenever you get them re-explore.
Thanks for your perusal.
