Does Google Maps comply with local laws regarding the promotion of vape products in Sri Lanka?

I noticed that there are many vape shops listed on Google Maps in Sri Lanka. However, as per Sri Lankan law, the sale and promotion of vape products is prohibited. My question is: Does Google Maps comply with local laws in Sri Lanka when it comes to listing businesses that deal with such prohibited products? Is it against Google’s policy to create or publish maps for vape shops in countries where the sale of such products is illegal?

Shouldn’t Sri Lanka’s legal framework adapt to reflect the evolving trends of the modern world? Vaping, while controversial, is increasingly recognized globally as an alternative to traditional smoking, with varying regulations across countries. Instead of outright prohibitions, perhaps a balanced approach with proper regulations and public awareness campaigns could better address health concerns while acknowledging changing consumer behaviors. It’s worth considering whether our policies align with global practices and advancements. @UserLK
