জ্বি @MohammadPalash ভাই, ইলিশের সাথে অন্যান্য মাছের স্বাদের কোনো তুলনা হয়না। কিন্তু আমরা মধ্যবিত্তদের জন্য স্বাদ থাকা সত্ত্বেও সব সময় কিনে খাওয়ার সামর্থ হয়না, তাই এই মাছ কে কি আমি আমার প্রিয় মাছ বলতে পারিনা।

But ‘Mola’ also my favorite fish.

Our country’s fish is rare too. Because we produce lots of metrics ton fish, but we export all. Its price is extremely high. So it’s out of touch with poor and middle-class people. So I say its rare.

Here, the certain fish is rare because of many reasons @NasimJ
- The hydro dam built in Laos/China make the pool shallower and less waterflow along the Mekong River where the fish live (in deep water). Shallow water also means less food/plankton for the fish
- It has been overfishing or do it illegally - and also used dangerous ways to catch them
- It is the largest species, it needs years to grow and killing it while it is still growing means no more next generations / no reproductive.
- Giant Barb weighs from 150 Kgs to 300 Kgs and is about two to three meters long

Hola @NasimJ mirando de nuevo la fotos del “Hilsa”, me parece, si es un pez de río, el sábalo. Si me confirmas que es de río, te digo que si lo he comido.
Se hace una sopa con papas, cebollas, pimientos y con sábalo cortado en postas, dejando las espinas, que es lo que da consistencia a la misma.

yes! @CAAG1959 Hilsa is catch from river. Padma is the main place to catch Hilsa.
