Disney on Ice "Live Your Dreams"

Have you ever watched a theatrical performance on an ice rink, such as dancing, acrobatic, and singing?
If the casts are Disney characters, it will be more beautiful and funnier, won’t it?

Currently, me and my Disney lovers family have watched Disney on Ice in Indonesia. This is a yearly international world tour show. In 2020, Disney on Ice theme is “Live Your Dreams”. Their tour in Indonesia was held on 29 January - 2 February 2020 at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang, Indonesia. We watched the show on the last day and time on Sunday, 2 February 2020. The last show started on 06.30 PM - 08.30 PM, including 15 minutes break.

The show was opened by two cheerful hosts (a man and a woman in colorful dress), along with Mickey, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy as the opening. Then, it was continued by the lovely stories and shows from Beauty & The Beast, Coco, Tangled (Rapunzel), Cinderella, Frozen, and Moana. The talented casts were dancing, singing, and acting amazingly on ice. What a cool performance!

On my previous post about 13.5 Hours in The Happiest Place on Earth , I have shared the video recap of Shanghai Disneyland parades, ride, and shows. This time, I would like to share you the video recap of Disney on Ice show “Live Your Dreams”.

ENJOY IT!

Thank you for watching my video @iorikun301

For me, Tangled was the best performance. There was a scene when Rapunzel and Flyn hanging and dancing together. It was so cool! But unfortunately, I didn’t shoot it hehehe…

Hahaha… boleh aja bawa pulang si dedek Nemo, tapi ijin dulu ke papi maminya :joy:

Hey @Velvel ,

This is the first time I hear about this. Where else could I watch something so beautiful?

I remember that I’ve seen the “Swan Lake” on ice show but Disney would be a totally different story.

@Velvel I haven’t seen it since I was a child, but I’m OK with that, haha. :slightly_smiling_face:

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, @Velvel ! This is the first time I see a video of Disney characters on ice.

I have seen before the Swan Lake and the Nutcracker on ice ballet performed by Russian dancers and it was simply breathtaking.

Your experience being on such kind of a ballet is truly unique! How long was the whole performance? Which part did you love the most of it?

Hello @TsekoV

Yes, this Disney show is definitely so amazing. The show duration was two hours, including 15 minutes break. I almost love all the part, especially when the princesses and princes came hehehe… But my most favorite was when Cinderella danced together with the prince. They both are so charming! I also love when Rapunzel and Flynn hanged on the thick rope while dancing together (sorry, I didn’t shot it). It’s so cool!

Swan Lake and the Nutcracker on ice ballet must be great, too! Did they act and have a voice, too? Did you watch it in Bulgaria?

Hey @Velvel ,

I wish I could see this kind of ballet too!

I have seen Swan Lake twice. Once in Beijing and once in Bulgaria. As for the Nutcracker, I have only seen it once in my country. It was always the Russian National Ballet that performed.

Hopefully one day you could watch Disney on Ice

Btw @TsekoV have you ever watched “京剧” (Peking Opera) in real?

Hey @Velvel ,

Yes, I watched it several times in Beijing. The Peking opera is quite different from the normal opera. There is always a story behind it and people dress in colorful costumes and put on make up. The story (lyrics) are always displayed on the side of the scene as the language performers use is quite ancient and is very different from the nowadays Chinese language. I even remember when I watched the opera, next to me was siting a 50+ years old Chinese women and she was checking Chinese characters on her phone as naturally she wouldn’t understand what they are speaking either.

For example, I remember that when people perform Chinese opera, when they say “I” (我, wo),they actually say “吾” (wu). Can you understand Peking opera fully? Have you ever seen it for real? Here is a photo that I would like to share with you.

Hi @TsekoV

Nice to know that you’ve ever watched Peking Opera in Beijing. Did they say Mandarin in 北京话 / Beijing dialect?

I’ve seen Peking Opera on Chinese TV channel, but never watch it fully. No, I won’t understand it fully because I’m also not really familiar with Beijing language. I’ve learnt in before, but not that “deep”. I need to open my language book again :joy:

How long is the performance? And what story that they perform?

Hi @Velvel ,

The question you asked is interesting. I decided to say it in Chinese as I hope I could explain it in a clearer way, he-he. : )

Honestly speaking I have watched Peking opera only twice. The story they perform is usually very famous, a part of some book such as Journey to the West (Monkey King) and many others. The performance usually lasts about 2 hours.

Hallo @Velvel
