Discrepancy Between Review Count

Can someone explain the discrepancy between what I see and my actual review count and what’s published to see?

For Example: privately I see that I have posted 193 reviews, but my public profile shows that I have published 177 reviews. Does it really take that long to post and publish reviews? Or what is the issue here?

The difference is how many reviews that have been taken down by the spamfilters.

@MortenCopenhagen how can I know which ones have been flagged as spam?

And is there a way to correct that?

@TitikMariati thank you :grin:

I’m currently obsessed with gaining the points :joy:

Haaaaah main Google maksudnya bagaimana? Main apa?
Mengulas dan menaklukkan tantangan Google Maps. Sama kan.,?
Lebih bermanfaat gak sih daripada main game ? Dan mereka tanya kenapa gak suka main game? Nggak guna dna nggak mutu maaf level kita beda buahahahahahah sumpah sih sombong level dewa saya wkwkwk dna akhirnya mereka pun ikutan mengulas namun tidak tangguh karena mereka gak suka ngetik gak bisa bercerita ya sudahlah yaaa xixixi

It is not easy to identify the hidden reviews. You need to compare your list of reviews using two phones. One logged into your account and one logged into another account. Scroll in parallel and notice which reviews are missing on the device you are not logged in on.

You can then edit the hitten ones and hopefully get them to go public again.

Hello @Shaker,

I wanted to let you know that I changed some of the tags of your topic as they were not relevant to your story. Make sure to add tags that best describe what you are sharing. For more information, please read this topic: What are Connect tags and how to use them?

@Shaker @MortenCopenhagen I may be completely wrong, so take this with two grains of salt. When i attempted the method mort mentioned i was NOT able to detect any missing reviews via incognito or a friend checking over them one by one. It came out exactly the same even though I had like 20 private. I dont know if this is fixed…

What i ended up doing is reading each review carefully and making sure of no grammar mistakes, no added punctuation like a dash or quotes, etc. No numbers or names. I continued to modify each one i thought might be caught by the system. After a couple days and numerous changes, I now only have 1 hidden review.

Takes time, takes reading each one to try and fix them to what the algorithm likes. However if the side by side viewing of you and a friend can see which reviews are private, then just fix those. I know I rambled on, but hopefully some of it made sense. Lol.

I vaguely remember someone reporting that comparing logged in vs Incognito mode to spot which reviews are taken down did no longer work. We now need to compare our list of reviews with the same list seen from a different Google account.

But I have not tested this.

Probably @WilfriedB knows more about this.

@StevenBerlin and @MortenCopenhagen that sounds like a lot of house cleaning on my end. I might not want to go back and fix past reviews but I’ll definitely be more aware of my reviews moving forward. Although I might try the “compare next to a different account” just to see which ones are hidden - that might help me understand the trend on my end.

Thanks both!

Correct @MortenCopenhagen and @StevenBerlin when you open the Maps profile in an anonymous session without logging in, you can scroll back only 10 or 20 reviews (or photos). So, if you want to compare only the most recent 10, it might still work, but not for older contributions.

@WilfriedB yes, now. But when I did my review checking, the Incognito method worked. Now it wont, so you need a partner

Correct @StevenBerlin it did work until several weeks (or months?) ago just for incognito without logging in anybody … but not anymore
