Discovering the Famous “Rosh Monjori” of Gaibandha 🍮

Hello Local Guides Connect Friends! :waving_hand:
My name is @Papel_Mahammud . I live in Dhaka and am a private sector employee by profession. But my hobby is traveling to different places and eating local traditional/famous food.

I must say, exploring local food is one of my favorite parts of every trip! No matter which district or upazila I visit in Bangladesh, I always try to taste the most famous local dish from that area.

So far, I’ve visited around 55 districts out of 64 in Bangladesh :bangladesh: — and have tried most of their signature foods. Today, I’m excited to share with you a very special sweet dish from Gaibandha District, located in the Rangpur Division — the famous “Rosh Monjori” (রসমঞ্জুরী).

A few days ago, I visited Gaibandha again for official work and stayed there for two days. I had tasted Rosh Monjori during my previous visit too — and this time, I couldn’t resist trying it again. The taste was absolutely amazing — rich, creamy, and unforgettable! :face_savoring_food:

About Rosh Monjori:

Rosh Monjori is a traditional sweet delicacy from northern Bangladesh. It’s quite similar to Roshomalai, but slightly thicker in texture and sweeter in flavor. Locals in Gaibandha and nearby regions proudly call it Rosh Monjori, making it a unique regional specialty.

The most famous place to try this heavenly sweet is Ramesh Sweets (রমেশ সুইটস) — a small but legendary shop in Gaibandha town. Though the shop is not very large, it’s quite old and well-known for its signature Rosh Monjori.

I, along with my colleagues, tried it from there — and it was truly mouthwatering and delightful!

Quick Info for Visitors:

If you ever visit Gaibandha, don’t miss trying the famous Rosh Monjori from Ramesh Sweets — it’s an authentic taste of northern Bangladesh that will melt your heart! :yellow_heart:
