Delicious Panada buns, Similar Look like Empanada Buns

Hello Everyone!

i want to introduce you one of the most favourite Traditional Buns from Manado, North Sulawesi , Indonesia. It has brownish color, savory taste and very good when we taste it.

while at tea time or coffee break we usually enjoy this bread with Tea or Coffee, because the taste is so yummy and indonesian people usually like Spicy taste and that make the Bread going to be people favourite choices.

However, people believed that this bread is a Spanish culinary influence because it is very similar to the Empanada cake. This Bread filled with tuna skipjack fish seasoned with Pampis. (Pampis seasoning is a tuna skipjack fish cooked with shallots, orange leaves, basil, red chillies, and leeks). If the Spanish meat empanada filled with meat, cheese, or corn, Panada from Manado uses Tuna skipjack meat as its main filling. tuna skipjack fish was chosen because of the natural condition of North Sulawesi which is dominated by the ocean and has a rich abundance of marine life

Panada has a soft taste like bread on the outside. While on the inside, the taste of skipjack fish will taste more spicy and savory.

Wah, panadanya gemuk-gemuk. Kelihatannya enak.

Beberapa kali pernah makan panada. Daging isiannya pedas, ada rasa ikan laut yang khas, juga asem-asem sedikit.

Aduh, jadi laper.

Terima kasih sudah berbagi, Kak @ElisaJuly

Hi @ElisaJuly !!

The initial photo of your post attracted me so much! Those Panada’s look delicious!!!

They are very very similar to the Argentinian Empanadas, but we make it with a thiner dough, so ours are not so similar to bread. The most popular here are the ones filled with meet, but there are a lot of different fillings. There are made by tuna, cheese, onions, corn, chicken, vegetables, and so on… we have lots of flavours to choose.

I wrote a post about Argentinian Empanadas some time ago. I hope you like it! Do you like Empanadas? #TeamArgentina.

Thanks for sharing this nice post with us!! I would love to taste one of your Indonesian panadas!!!

Regards

Cecilia

wow that’s great @Navid_Ebdaei , and what people usually called the snack in Iran ?

 We call it in Iran as “پیراشکی” which you can pronounce it as “Pirashki” … According to Wikipedia, perhaps the word comes from Russia or Slavic language …generally we dont use it with tea or coffee because of meat and salty taste…but we do have something similar in shape, with sweet taste named “Qotab” that is one of the old and traditional sweets in Iran that people widely may use it alone or with tea…or sometimes with coffee
(You may find some detail of “Qotab” in here  )
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qottab

by the way to me the “Pirashki” is one of the best and the most delicious food … I love it  :+1:

Did you prepared them by yourself?
