In Saudi Arabia, Iraqi kebab, commonly known as Shish Kebab, is one of the most famous dishes in Middle Eastern cuisine. Sumac, cumin, and paprika are used to flavor these kebabs. This kebab, like other kebabs, is cooked on skewers on which minced lamb meat is placed. To add extra flavor, the skewers are usually garnish with the green chilli, onions, and tomatoes. Fresh parsley and sumac powder are placed on the kebabs towards the end.
Arabian seasoning Sumac, which is used as a garnish on kebabs, is a popular ingredient in the Middle East. Its name derives from the Arabic âsummaqâ, which means âred,â and it is primarily grown in Turkey and Iran. This shrubâs berries are dried and crushed into a fine crimson powder. These berries have a tart and peppery flavor. There are also traditions of sumac being used in the production of Arab medicine in the past. The Arab ancestorsâ traditional knowledge of utilizing sumac powder is considered to be beneficial in treating high blood pressure disorders. This particular restaurant chain in my neighborhood is well-known for serving some of the best Iraqi shish kebabs, which are served with Khubz Arabi and French fries.
