Delhi-NCR Local Guides get a new logo

It is time Delhi- NCR local guides had their own logo. Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune and many other Indian city local guides have their own logos. But Local guides from equally significant cities of Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, and Faridabad never had a logo. Rather than create separate logos I have created one logo unit incorporating the 24 districts and the 4 states that constitute the National Capital Region (NCR) more commonly referred to as Delhi-NCR.

The National Capital Region is a planning region centred upon the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi and several districts surrounding it from the three states of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan totalling 55,083 square kilometres.

Excluding Delhi, NCR has Twenty-four Districts-Thirteen districts of Haryana: Faridabad, Gurugram, Nuh, Rohtak, Sonipat, Rewari, Jhajjar, Panipat, Palwal, Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Jind, and Karnal, Eight districts of Uttar Pradesh: Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat, Hapur, Muzaffarnagar, and Shamli and Two districts of Rajasthan: Alwar and Bharatpur.

With a population at 71 million, NCR is technically the 21st most populated country in the world with its population being more than that of France, UK, Australia, and Canada!! With estimated GDP at 370 billion it is technically the 41st richest nation in the world with its GDP more than countries like Egypt, New Zealand, Finland, and Pakistan.

What makes this logo unit interesting?

The 24 stars in outer circle represent the 24 districts of Delhi-NCR.
The 4 stars inside represent the 4 states of Delhi-NCR

Five important landmarks feature in the logo unit

Lotus temple, Delhi

Qutab Minar, Delhi

India Gate, Delhi

Ship building, DLF gateway tower

Jawahar gate, Ghaziabad

The Metro on the logo represents the 394 kms long metro network (289 stations) that connects all the prominent cities of the Delhi-NCR: Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, and Noida.

Just as the Google local guides program connects and bring all local guides together establishing a wonderful community, I hope the logo would too would create a distinct identity and do the same.

What a thoughtful and impactful initiative @curatorofmemory ji.

This Delhi-NCR Local Guides logo is not just a design—it’s a symbol of unity, diversity, and the incredible cultural and geographical expanse that NCR represents. Including 24 stars for the districts and 4 for the states is a brilliant touch, and the choice of iconic landmarks beautifully showcases the region’s rich heritage and modern achievements.

Also, the inclusion of the metro—such an integral part of life here—makes the logo truly relatable and rooted in everyday experience. You’ve done justice to the scale and importance of Delhi-NCR in the Local Guides community.
