Deleted places on map

In my country, there are a large number of erased places from the maps. These are places that didn’t have an owner and didn’t break the rules. Places have been on maps for years, had hundreds of reviews and photos. These are castles, palaces, viewpoints, waterfalls, parks …tourist attractions and natural monuments.

I’m losing hundreds of points because the places I visited a few weeks ago are no longer on the maps.

What is happening is that the greatest monuments in my country have suddenly disappeared and do not exist on the maps. Alternatively, this place on maps starts as a novelty without reviews and photos.

I am sorry. It annoys me. My work is in vain. Can anyone help me? How do I get these places back?

here are some examples:

Hi @eMJe

It sounds terrible.

Did you do a text search for the original places? Just browsing and zooming on the map will not show all places.

Are such places shown under “Unknown place” in your photo contribution list?

Normally places with lots of reviews and photos can not just be deleted. Sometimes a business might steal and claim a place with lots of contributions and rename the place. This can be done on purpose or out of ignorance. Maybe you could look around to see if this could have happened to some of your missing places.

You need to provide better clues than just linking to the new places with only a few photos/reviews. Maybe you made edits and can find the email confirmations. Or maybe you have some of them on a Googe Maps list.

Normally such data issues are better dealt with in the Maps support forum.

Hit the Community tap at the top and make a post.

Cheers

Yes, I have email receipts for editing places that no longer exist. Many of these places are listed as visited or as already visited, but now there is nothing on the map except my brand. How do I point this out directly to Google?
