I’m an active Google Maps contributor, and I would like to report what appears to be an issue with contribution view statistics.
For more than a week, my total contribution view count has remained stuck at approximately 25 million views, even though I have continued adding new reviews, photos, and other contributions during that time. These contributions are not showing as pending; they appear in my contribution history as successfully added, but my overall view count is no longer increasing as it normally would.
I also recently asked my husband, who is not an active Google Maps contributor, to check his contribution statistics. His individual reviews and photos appear to account for only around 12,000 views, yet his profile was displaying approximately 40 million total views. That figure did not appear to correspond with the visible performance of his contributions.
Seeing that discrepancy on his account while my own account has remained stuck despite continued activity makes me concerned that there may be a broader issue with how Google Maps is calculating, displaying, or synchronizing contribution statistics.
One of the main reasons I have enjoyed contributing to Google Maps is that it has felt like a platform where useful content can reach people organically, without having to rely on social media promotion or paid visibility. Accurate statistics are therefore important to me. When the numbers shown on contributor profiles do not correspond with the underlying contributions, it becomes difficult to know whether those metrics are reliable.
Could someone please investigate whether there is currently a technical issue affecting contribution view statistics, or escalate my account for review if necessary?
