My family organized an exciting day trip from Dhaka to the Padma river, including a private boat trip of 3 hours on the impressive river and along the Padma bridge construction works. And I enjoyed the crowded and colourful ferry station with all types of boats arriving and leaving.

The Padma Bridge is a two-level structure that stands strong in the mighty Padma river. The two-level steel truss bridge spans a single-track railroad on the lower level and a four-lane highway on the top. Padma bridge length is about 6.15 Kilometres which makes it the longest bridge in Bangladesh and 122nd in the world. Plus, the Padma bridge span number is 41 in total. This bridge’s highest pile depth, at 122 meters, is higher than all other bridges combined. The total Padma bridge cost was about 30,193 crores BDT or 3.56 billion USD
