The place where i always thought for having ideal, urban dates. We used to nurture thoughts of hanging out here. Like any other couples coming from North 24 Parganas, the most walked place was by the temporary shops and by the hotel buildings. Sreeram Arcade was the most visited mall, for many reasons along with shopping. Let it be Durga Pooja or New Year, our entire generation were obsessed buying stuffs from Esplanade.
Now, time for mast trivia. Let us tell some facts about this neighbourhood. I think this place was previously known as Chowringhee and heard from older guys about this place being the poshest area in the city, because of the different modes of connectivity, top notch movie theatres and luxury hotels. Speaking about city, this small place is the biggest junction in the its subway transit, being located between Chandni Chowk and Park Street. Lately, this place became the shopping destination and connector for bus trips all over the state.
eat :- The best streets for street food. Too many names for recommendation, so let me just say this - i always overate here, ending up with a stomach upset.
need :- Rs. 1000 at least [shopping spree] + transportation
Before having dates, i came here with friends and couple of times, alone too. The crowd and gazes will be always haunting me and enlarging nostalgia. I forgot to mention about Shaheed Minar being just a jaywalk away of this place. And New Market of course, the oldest form of shopping mall i have even seen. After seeing the crowd last year, it seems couples still think this place is hip, than forever.
