I noticed a significant discrepancy between my actual photo views and what is displayed for my profile on the third-party website Local Guides Ranking (localguides-ranking.com).
Stats shown on Local Guides Ranking: ~29.1 Million photo views (29,097,662)
It looks like the platform hasn’t captured my latest stats, or there is an issue with how the data is being synced or scraped from my public Google Maps profile.
Has anyone experienced a similar data delay or miscount on Local Guides Ranking? Is there a way to force a re-index/update of profile metrics on LGR, or is this best directed directly to the site administrator/creator on Connect?
Any insights or guidance on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!
I do not know about the third-party extenal website, dear @Ankitsrivastava, though I have reported it to Google. The numbers in the notification and the Maps profile are not always in sync.
Dear @Ankitsrivastava , total views represent the combined views from the videos, photos, and reviews you have posted, whereas photo views only count the views on your photos.

However, I would like to highlight 2 points:
if the issue is in an external platform like LGR, volunteering managed by an external, non official source, you should address your complaint to them. The team is not responsible for data displayed externally
the data that you are comparing are not coherent: in your post you are comparing “photos view” (LGR) with “Total views” In this email sent by the team. For a correct comparison you should check your photo views in the Photos section of your profile in Google Maps
I have no idea what the “Official” Local Guides WhatsApp might be, but there are always differences how frequent several publications are updated.
I track the views for each and very of my 8k+ since May 2024. There always some changes very day, except for last week Aug 4 and Aug 5, 2026.
The total count shown on the desktop browser and on the mobile app as “Life time photo views”, usually updates one day later. However, we saw many times, it did not update at all for several days. Currently, the most recent update, I saw for the total was on Aug 4 and it did not change until now. The individual counts for the photos did pick up very slowly since Aug 6 and then massively during the weekend of Aug 8/9.

The WhatsApp channel is confined to local guides in India, wherein Google’s LG team sends weekly or monthly updates on their performance to select local guides.
The LG team is running a WhatsApp test in India. @Latika_Malhotra posted about it. And we often see screenshots shared here on Connected. Calling it official is okay in my opinion.

Often the data for praise emails are pulled some days in advance of sending them out. This can explain some deviations.

WhatsApp is our official marketing communication channel for Local Guides (active only in India for now) in addition to Email. Which means there should not be any discrepancy in your stats on WhatsApp vis-a-vis you Google Maps app. If there is any issue, please report to me.
You monthly stats show your data for the mentioned month. (eg: July in this case) and it also covers your Total impact for your lifetime of contributions on Maps
If you are seeing discrepancy in your stats from Google Maps app, please let me know as your feedback is valuable. However, I won’t be able to help you if the discrepancy involves external dashboard, as I don’t have any visibility into it.
