Dalhousie: From My Lens

With this unexpected plan, I got to visit Dalhousie and Khajjiar (also k/a Mini Switzerland of India). This trip was all about relaxation and enjoying the nature. So I witnessed most of the weathers of Dalhousie and captured them through my lens. Here goes some of those moments

Hi @Banks_28

Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos. Wow, It is a very nice place. How long have you stayed there?

How can we reach this place and when is the best time to visit it?

What impressed you the most during this trip?

@IshantHP_ig Is it the same place you have been there before?

@Aruni Thank you so much for your appreciation

The answer to your first question is that I got to stay there for 2 nights and 3 days.

To reach Dalhousie:

  1. Via Bus: overnight journey if you start from Delhi

  2. Via train: Nearest station would be Pathankot and from there you have to hire a cab. Takes around 2-3 hours.

  3. Via flight: again nearest airport is Pathankot. After reaching here, you’ll have to hire a cab or might get shared cab.

I was impressed with the place of stay, which was Mid Conifer Cottage and Resorts by the way and the beauty of nature this place has to provide.

Best time to visit: March-May. If you want to experience snow, you can visit here during December-March.

Hi @Banks_28

Thank you for your information. What activities can you do around?

How did you spend your holidays?

What other places can you visit?

@Aruni @ So this place has alot to offer

Places of interest would be:

  1. Khajjiar- where you can go for horse-riding, zorbing, paragliding, and relax with your family. I would suggest to visit here early morning or later in evening.

  2. Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary- located next to Dalhousie, this place is said to have many wild animals. An entry fee of car is applicable (₹250) in case you decide to take your car inside and not trek till the top. Personally, I would suggest to skip this as there is nothing major to be done here unless you’re an adventurous person

  3. Dainkund Peak which is also the highest point of Dalhousie. Amazing view from the top and nearby a temple is also located where you can visit.

  4. Churches in main city

  5. Panchpula- a small waterfall where many activities like zipping can be done.

My suggestion would be take a place of stay away from main city, enjoy the nature and it’s gift along with rest for one day, and cover all these things the next day. Not only will it be economical, also you’ll be able to enjoy everything.

For 2 night 3 days, other places of interest are: Bir-Billing, Narkanda, Manali, Rishikesh, Dharamshala-Mcleod Ganj.
