Curating the world through Google Maps Lists 🌍

Hello Local Guides,

Over time, one Google Maps feature I’ve really enjoyed using is Lists. What started as saving a few places has slowly turned into building themed collections that help travelers explore destinations faster, plan itineraries, and discover meaningful locations.

I enjoy grouping places by themes — spiritual routes, historic cities, scenic regions, film locations, and travel circuits. Some lists are based on places I’ve visited, while others come from research and future travel plans. Together, they’ve become a personal travel map that I love sharing with others.

Below are the lists I’ve created so far. I’ve also added a screenshot for each so you can preview how they look on Maps.

Why I love creating Google Maps Lists

Creating lists has become a great way to contribute as a Local Guide:

• Helps travelers quickly see what to explore

• Makes trip planning easier

• Encourages thematic travel

• Lets me organize visited places and dream destinations

• Makes sharing recommendations simple

I try to keep each list clear, useful, and easy to navigate by adding key landmarks, nearby spots, and meaningful locations.

Wow, great to see you using list as theme based lists. I love list feature in google maps. I often save the places to visit in my city/other states, local food to try, stay vacation places as my lists. While planning trip with my friends i make list and share with them to add their places of interest. This helps lot in planning.

Hey man very cool list of lists Is tumbled across this post and the community because we have build a Tool that lets you share google maps list within our app.
