Cuba's Skills

Havana is a fascinating city in Cuba.

Wonderful old cars catch your eye as you walk through the city.

This city and the entire island are suffering from the embargo and you can’t find and buy many products, especially mechanical and technological.

Nowadays buying a car for Cubans is very expensive, it is the same as for Italian people buy a Ferrari.

it is like Italian people buying a Ferrari.

Traveling by car is a privilege for few people, hitchhiking or taking a bus is more common for Cubans.

The positive aspect is that the island is free from pollution environmental caused by cars because there are very few of them on the roads.

Due to the embargo, Cubans for decades have been forced to adjust, to fixing the little they have and they have developed a great creativity that you can see in many cities.

Every car had been repaired year after year from the 50s now they are beautiful Vintage cars that many tourists want to take photos of them.

The conservation of these cars over the years have made them one of the symbols of Cuba.

Thanks! the idea of the post was born to publish some photos. I am aware that Cuba cannot be just Vintage cars but it is much more. I have seen a proud people, unwilling to talk politics with the tourist. That’s why I let the photos speak.

Hi @DENIT33

I love your post and photos. I’ve said this before in a reply to another Connect post about Cuba, one of my main objectives to visit would be to see and photograph the many beautiful vintage cars still on the road there. Yes as you say it has truly become a symbol of tourist attraction of Cuba. Thank you for sharing.

Havana seems like a good and beautiful place to visit @DENIT33

I love the colorful cars

Have you driven a car there?

It’s indeed a coincidence. I found your post on the day when my favorite Taiwanese singer released his new music video that was shooted in Havana as well.

Jay Chou - Mojito is the music video. Take a look and bring back your Havana’s memory

Thank you @Velvel for your comment.

Cuba is a very interesting island.

I would like to go back to see the other half of the island, 2 weeks have not been enough.

I didn’t drive vintage cars because every car has its driver.

Cuba is a very interesting island.

We traveled for two weeks, but it was not enough to visit the southern part of the island.

In the future I would like to return to complete the experience.

Cuba is an interesting island. There are many other things to say, to set a lot of thoughts down, but that take a long time and I would like to find proof of what I could write.

Oh really? That’s indeed a wonderful coincidence @DENIT33 but is also the beautiful thing of the Local Guides family  . Where are you from exactly, close to them?

We traveled together for Connect Live 2019, after that he flew to Cuba. We will meet each other again in two weeks at @manulele81 's meetup in Norcia, perhaps you want to join as well :yum: ?
