Oh, you make me jealous while writting, that you did visit Jordania. @OSAMA , what do you think about this

I was once a mass collector of post cards from all places I did visit. I have had a room, where I did pin all postcards based on there location I collected from. Than I get married…

Now in fact the Google photos are my souveniers I take with me and I have everywhere @InaS .

I still do uploads from trips over two years ago. I check on my phone what town is available and than do a virtual tour back. Really, since this time I don’t need anymore souvenirs.

While my boys always get football scarfs and my daughter always select something different.

Thank you dear @FaridTDF for mention me in this post.

I like photos of @InaS from Jordan. She is so beautiful in red.

I like her post about her memory of Jordan.

I also like to collect some things from my travelling.

I’ve been collecting postcards, magnets, and paintings from my travels for a long time. I’ve been buying books about my host country lately.

I visit more than 20 countries, and have already had many painting from these countries -but have stopped to buy them, because my flat looks like a museum. :grinning:

Books are more useful.

These is my photo album ,where you can watch my souvenirs and paintings.

That’s an interesting query @InaS

I remember a nice souvenir which tells me when I visited the Great Wall.

While arranging that I helped the artisan to ensure my name appears correctly on that!

Nevertheless, clicking the pics and then saving them in Google Photos creates the best souvenir. The app keeps on enlightening periodically where you had been in the past on this day.

A nice and very interesting post @InaS , and I have to tell you that I stood at that exact location while taking a snap of the awe inspiring Al-Khazneh (Treasury)! Like you and most, I also love taking home a souvenir of my visits I have many souvenirs like these beautiful granite carved pieces one of an Egyptian cat and the other bust of Nefertiti by the sculptor Thutmose.

However, my all time favorite is the scale model of the high altitude Khumbu region of Nepal showing and naming all the peaks, glaciers, rivers etc in the area including, of course, Mt Everest. It really is an amazing 3-dimensional model made with such detail that always amazes me. After spending several months in Nepal, on the last day as I was leaving Namche Bazaar, I saw this in a gift shop and just had to have it! It’s always there right up front and center of all my other souvenirs and always reminds me of this part of our amazing planet. The first photo shows it with its Perspex cover on and for comparative sizing you can see the Red & White Lego VW Campervan which I wrote about in this post.

I loved reading this post, @InaS ! I am also a huge fan of collecting travel souvenirs.

One of my most favorite objects that I’ve ever bought while traveling abroad are Chinese hand-scrolls with different paintings on them. They would depict a certain season, a mystical place in China or just a blooming flower. This was my favorite present to buy for all my friends while I was in China.

Whenever I see some of these, I would stop and look at all of them. I also love their shape of a scroll and the way they open.

Wow, @TorM , a room full of postcards!!! Do you have any photos of it before taking them down? I agree, now we have all our memories in Google photos. I have a box where I put all my treasures from my trips, and the magnets are on the fridge.

I’m impressed with your collection @helga19 ! You have there some great pieces of art! Thank you for sharing your album with us. What you have collected there is a treasure that will never lose its value. A fun fact, I got some beautiful paintings while I was in Rome. I bought them from a street painter. I was so excited to bring them back home and was showing them to my mother during a video-call. I took the bus to the airport. I was in a hurry not to miss my flight and forgot them on the bus. I got so sad and decided after that I won’t buy any more paintings, because I was afraid to forget/lose them again.

Yes, you get a sneak peek of what happened that day, which is a great way to highlight your memories @C_T . You did great that you helped the artisan writing your name correctly. I should do the same. Usually, they write my name with an extra letter. Thank you so much for your comment.

Thank you for your comment @AdamGT . The 3-dimensional model is super nice and very detailed! I wonder how did you bring it safe at home without not breaking it. Usually, I’m not lucky with glass pieces. Always end up damaged or broken.

Such a pity, @TorM ! I hope you will be able to find them someday  .

Yes exactly @InaS , because that was the biggest challenge but I wanted it so badly that I was prepared to take the risk…as I purchased the model in Namche Bazaar (altitude 3,450 m) I had to carry it from there while trekking with backpack etc all the way back to Lukla Airport, fortunately downhill all the way but still awkward not to mention it is a fragile souvenir. I was lucky in that the store had some bubble wrap and I put the bubble wrapped model in the biggest “carry bag” they had which sadly wasn’t big enough so I cut the sides open to fit the model in. Determined I was, I got it to Lukla and onto my 14-seater flight from there back to Kathmandu and some days later onto an international flight back home. The risk paid off as it truly is a magnificent 3-dimensional model :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you you so much dear @InaS for your reply. It is sad story about the painting. I agree, that in hurry we lost our souvenirs, things that is important for us.

I like to buy painting from street artist, because it is a part of that country, that I visited.

Thank you for your nice words about my collection. :rose:

Best wishes from Russia,
