Criterias I rate a restaurant

5 stars - worth a visit.
4 stars - good place to eat. (if you walk by or live nearby)
3 stars - acceptable but not recommended. (average taste)
2 stars - bad taste, but OK service
1 star - bad taste and service

Most restaurants I have visited and rated so far are in 4 stars.
I haven’t encountered any 1-star restaurants in Finland (where I currently live) yet under this criteria.

Thank you for this interpretation of the ratings, @rumia!

For 3 stars, I’d prefer to say “neither good nor bad” since “not recommended” sounds a bit like “don’t go there”, which really applies to 1 or 2 stars.

P.S. looking at your photo contributions, I find they are really original and a great idea. Just being surprised, the AI filter did accept them all. Indeed 240 out of 204 went public :+1: (while 11 reviews are hidden  )

Hi @rumia

This may be a good criteria but in your view.
Review is based on individual perception.

Thanks for sharing and keep doing great by making great reviews on maps.

Cheers.

Many businesses on Google contain a large number of 5-star reviews with no text at all. This obviously has an impact on a business’s high rating.

Comments that do not contain content and do not reflect the truth are usually made by different users on the same day and time.

Published low-rated reviews may be removed, especially in countries with stricter rules.

I’ve heard that low-rated businesses are eventually removed from Google, but I don’t know if this is true.
