Create Lists Based On Saved Locations

I’d like to be able to create a new list with saved locations in one place (or a radius around a place). For me personally, I save my locations based on different categories and therefore in different lists. Sometimes friends of mine want to travel to I. e. an island I visited before and I’d love to share all my saved locations on this island with them, without having to manually add all of them to a new list. Maybe this feature could also include temporary lists, I. e. if you know that a person will likely only use a list for a specific travel date, and give the option to save locations on the shared list to your own lists before the list expires.

What you have suggested is already exist on Google Maps. I would suggest you try the following:

Save a place to a list

  1. Search for a place or click it on the map.
  2. Click Save.
  3. Choose a list. To create a list, click New list .
  4. Optional: To remove a place from a list, click Saved ->click the list.

it seems I didn’t explain correctly so I’ll try again :slight_smile: I use the location lists intensively. Let’s say I create a list for accommodation tips, and another one for restaurants and scuba diving. I save locations from all across the world in them. Now I have a friend who goes to one place on holiday, let’s say to Ibiza. I now would like to create a new, temporary list for my friend with all the locations I have saved in my different lists, but only those accommodations, restaurants and scuba dive sites located in Ibiza.

It happens a lot to me that people ask for my recommendations for a certain place they travel to, but as I keep my lists organized by topic and not location, I currently now have to go through all my saved list locations and manually add them to another list I create and later have to delete again manually, or I just share each saved spot manually, which takes a lot of time.

Is there any feature already existing that can create a new list of saved locations out of my existing lists?

Easily make custom maps to remember your favorite places, explore new cities, or plan great vacations. You can even collaborate and make great maps together.

This platform allow your friends to see and edit your maps, or publish them to the whole world by following this steps in this article about Share, download, or print your map.
