Create a Local Guide Signature on a MacBook Pro

Hi there fellow Local Guides

I’ve seen a few posts regarding how one can personalize your LG signature but I still seem to be struggling.

I’m not sure if it’s because I am working off a MacBook as opposed to a Windows machine or if I’m getting the coding wrong.

I’d like to have a couple links below my signature such as Instagram and perhaps even my YouTube channel.

Anybody that could assist me here?

PS - Hope I posted under the correct header, if not I do apologize. Please could an admin then indicate which group this post should fall under?

Hi @LeeBee-SA it does not matter which operating system you use, the method is the same. I did not create a video of how I did it but others have shared their’s here, even though it was before local guide connect was re-arranged, it might a look a bit different to this new local guide connect, the most important thing is to get to my settings on your profile, then after that its all the same as the current layout of the local guide connect. see the link: How I created my signature with link of my post shared by @deepakjhic , I just tagged him I am sure he will be able to guide you when you have questions. if you experience some issues just let me know, I will try to assist in any way I could.

Hi @LeeBee-SA the signature is HTML based. Head over to a WYSIWYG - HTML editor: https://html-online.com/editor/ and type out what you want and add in the appropriate hyperlinks. Then copy what is on the right side of the screen (source) into your signature. Since it’s a WYSIWYG editor, it’ll take all the guessing out of the code.

You don’t need any external editor for your signature, @LeeBee-SA , @Initial_E

As you already have a signature, I don’t need to explain to you where to add it. So, how to create your signature on Connect.

  • Start a post, that at the end of the procedure you will not have to save
  • Write your signature, adding the hyperlinks with the link command (is part of your set of editing tools)
  • Switch to HTML (again, is part of the editing tools)
  • Copy the code and paste it into the signature field, opened on another tab
  • Save your signature
  • Close your fake post without saving

Your signature is ready, and will appear in all your post and replies

Have a fun in Connect

Thanks very much for your comment @Raphael-Mahumane

I did see and watch the video but felt I was still doing something wrong.

I’m playing around now with it and following the instructions from @ErmesT .

@LeeBee-SA ok, I am sure since you once did it before, it wont be that much hard this time, normally you have to understand what you are doing, and be able to play around with it, I made my own by getting advice from here, you can do it too. I will have to create a video showing how is done, which will be for the recent Connect.
