COSMOVITRAL, A HIDDEN GEM

Close to Mexico City, is located Toluca de Lerdo, capital of the state of Mexico, among its colonial streets, hills and the imposing view of the “Nevado de Toluca”, is the Cosmovitral, a beautiful little garden, with flowers, desert, a Japanese garden and a lot of magic in its stained glass windows.

Although the space was originally a market place built in 1909, in 1975 it was decided to build this wonderful garden, being officially founded in 1980.

The Mexican artist Leopoldo Flores Valdés is the author of the cosmovitral, however he was supported by 60 craftsmen and 45 tons of glass were used. The work is made of 500 000 glass fragments coupled in 30 000 sections, a true marvel of art!

Indeed this place is a hidden gem in the vast Mexico City.

Is this garden completely indoors or simply a covered place?

Thank you!
The garden is completely enclosed, like a huge greenhouse due to the variety of flora it has, as the climate of the city of Toluca is very cold.

Such a wonderful garden so much greenery thanks @CharliePizano to share this picture with us , it’s really a hidden gem .
