Cooking Traditional Dessert in Quarantine Time

Since I was a little girl, my Mom always bought me this porridge. That time I was a little bit picky eater, but once I try this kind of sweet porridge, I just like and love it. Maybe because it is sweet and very delicate, so it is easy to eat. The sweet taste makes me happy.

But my Mom never make it by herself, we always buy it, and so do I. For me it seems complicated to make it by myself. But with lots of time in hand now, suddenly I log for this kind of dessert. This is traditional dessert, used to named Bubur Sumsum/ Indonesian Sweet Rice Flour Porridge. In this quarantine time, there is no traditional dessert seller outside, so I have to do it by myself.

Because I am not at that good in cooking, so when my friend knows that I want to try this dessert, she gave her recipe. And for me it is simple and I am sure I can get my dessert. I have make it twice and will be do it again! Unfortunately, I was lack attention when I picked this kind of flour, but after googling, there is one recipe that also make the porridge with this sticky rice flour. So, I continue to make it, just take it easy, if I’m failed this time, there are still another time. . Here is the recipe:

I like this Bubur Sumsum very much.

The taste is unique, especially with plenty of Gula Jawa cair.

This Bubur Sumsum is a special menu, to celebrate a successfull project.

Meet up commetee, kerja bakti, Pembuaran Panita Tujuh Belasan, Selesainya kerja bakti.

I always ask more Gula Jawa cair for my Bubur Sumsum.

Thank you so much, Mam @Marianis for your promise to give me this recipe. It is so detail. The ingredients are also not hard to find.

Well noted for that. I am also a fan of this kind of dessert. Usually, I eat this with Biji Salak or Pisang Ijo.

I just knew that Bubur Sumsum is usually eaten for a celebration. Nice information

Hi @Velvel , pisang ijo is kind of dessert from Makassar, if I’m not mistaken? I just eat the porridge without additions. So this is a new information, sometime I will try this. Thanks for the information.
