Cooking is an art best expressed in the hands of the artist: the cook

Thank you @Nuhuu

Yea, @SholaIB corrected that the Ghanaians call it Waakye, while the Togolese call it Wanke.

She (who made it) is half Togolese/half Ghanaian.

You won’t believe that I have never been to Ghana? :see_no_evil:

Thanks for sharing your picture with me. I look forward to exploring with you after this Lockdown is over.

in Indonesia we cook beans for soup, especially red beans and bone marrows. Super duper yuuum @Ewaade_3A …we also use it for dessert! We mixed the beans with palm sugar and put it on top of shredded, syrup-flavored ice. Love them all!

So tempting… thank you for sharing this here @Ewaade_3A we have a different way to cook soy bean, pretty similar in color. One day, I will share with you how we do it :hugs: :hugs:

Wow! cool!

We have a ‘beans soup’ here too. Consumed as ‘Koto’ in my native Ekiti State, Nigeria and consumed as Gbegiri in Oyo State, Nigeria.

Wow! Beans on flavored ice? @indahnuria

You have seen it all, Ma’am

Thank you @Ewaade_3A for this very interesting post on your local food preparation. I love good food and I’m always eager to try new things and flavors. I agree cooking is definitely an art form and tasting the good food prepared by true artist/chefs is always a pleasure.

Traditional Dutch food are probably best known mashed potato meals. Like Boerenkool or Hutspot.

But lucky for us many cultures blended in from Indonesia, China and Suriname bringing more diversity and more spicy meals.

@Ewaade_3A this is actually what I’m eating now. Nothing traditional just fantasy of the cook (me).

It’s rice (separatly cooked) with Satay and Satay sauce (peanut sauce) onion, garlic and brown beans.

Wow! It looks very yummy.

I am going to try cooking my rice with peanut sauce.

I really like Peanut sauce with ‘Garden Egg’ or bread. I wonder how it will taste with Rice.

Is it spicy?

@Erik_van_den_Ham

Yes @Ewaade_3A I like it spicy so I also used a red pepper in the peanut sauce.

In fact, I believe it will taste better, for people who are already used to eating spicy food, because the Peanut is sweet, so is the rice…

Indeed @Ewaade_3A sweet and spicy is great combination. Sometimes when it’s very spicy drops of sweat will start rolling from my head :joy: .
