New to the community and not familiar with how map editing works. When a user suggests a name for an unnamed road in Google Maps, is the users actions logged? Is there a way to find out who did it?

First of all, getting road names approved is very difficult.
We Maps users have no access to who made an edit. I believe Googlers can access this information. But it is only done when investigating seriously bad actors.

Many thanks Morten. A contributor has named the road leading up to my parents house a somewhat offensive name. If contributions are publicly logged, would it not show who the user is?

It wouldn’t show. Sorry about that.
Nevertheless if you’ve got some important documents and proofs to show,please get help in the Google Maps Community. That should be faster than trying to re-edit it yourself. I’ve tried it out once at least and got help there.

Thanks Shola. It’s a residential road that only leads to their property. It had no name prior to this, so I have no formal documentation with original name to show. So would the community be the only way to get help?
