Day 2: Women’s Meet-up—Sharing Stories and Championing Safety!
The morning of the 19th dawned with a special energy, distinct from the main conference buzz. Today was dedicated to a focused and vital gathering: the women’s meet-up. We all gathered bright and early in the Zuri hotel lobby, excited for the journey and the conversation ahead. From there, we headed to the Carina office, where our wonderful fellow Local Guide, Isha, was hosting this important event.
Upon arrival, the atmosphere was immediately warm and welcoming. We settled in to enjoy a delicious breakfast, savoring the chance to connect more intimately over coffee and treats. But the core of the morning was a dedicated session focused on a deeply important topic: women’s safety in the country.
This wasn’t just a discussion; it was a powerful, collaborative exploration. We spoke openly about the challenges women face and, more importantly, brainstormed actionable ways we, as a powerful community of Local Guides, could help create a greater sense of security. Ideas flowed—from leveraging technology and mapping for better awareness of safe routes, to building stronger community support networks both online and offline. Every voice contributed, sharing personal experiences and innovative solutions, strengthening our collective commitment to this cause. It was truly inspiring to see so many brilliant minds come together with such passion and empathy.
To cap off the meet-up, we engaged in a heartwarming tradition: the exchange of souvenirs. Each woman had brought small tokens or mementos from her home region. The exchange was a tangible expression of connection and cultural sharing, offering a beautiful reminder of the diverse backgrounds and shared purpose that brought us all together in Bengaluru. It was a perfect ending to a morning focused on empowerment, connection, and commitment to making a real difference.
