If you think a hotel is just a place to sleep while travelling, well… let me introduce you to my little Singapore headquarters: Amara Singapore! ![]()
After arriving in Singapore as a solo traveler, Amara became my cozy little corner of comfort before the Connect Live adventures officially took over.
And the welcome? Lovely! The reception team was incredibly friendly and amicable. One of the staff members was genuinely curious about our Local Guides contributions and experiences. Honestly, that little interaction made me feel that this trip was going to be a BANGER and about so much more than just travelling. The Connect Live excitement was slowly becoming REAL! ![]()
And by the time I realized I should have been more outgoing, the moment had already passed. Social battery: buffering. Networking opportunity: missed. Regret: fully downloaded. ![]()
The Room: My Personal Wonderland
Because, obviously, getting ready in front of a beautiful mirror is one thing… having BTS playing on the big screen while dancing around the room is a completely different experience. ![]()
No audience. No judgement. No one asking what on earth I was doing. Just me, my music, singing, dancing and laughing all by myself. ![]()
And wait… I didn’t stop there!
I actually recorded myself dancing, had a little photoshoot session with my tripod and changed outfits like I had a whole production crew waiting outside. ![]()
Because DUHHHH! I had carried all those outfits from Bangladesh to Singapore. They deserved their moment, and I had to do proper justice to the wardrobe investment!
THIS is the perfect utilization of solo time. Being unapologetically meeeee, with absolutely zero supervision!
But the first night had a slightly different storyline ![]()
I was absolutely exhausted, with sore and swelled toes and a migraine after the day’s travel. So I got comfortable, took a hot shower, did a little skincare, took my migraine medication, put on a face mask and… BOOMMMM! I went straight to Wonderland in my sleep. No further negotiations. Goodnight, Singapore! ![]()
The Facilities: A Gym Rat’s Unfinished Business

Now, anyone who knows me knows I’m a bit of a gym-rat type, always trying to keep up with my biases’ fitness motivation. So naturally, I was excited to see the hotel’s well-equipped gym.
And the swimming pool corner? Absolutely lovely! The view from there was so nice, and the whole setting looked like the perfect place to unwind.
BUT DID I SWIM? Nope. Not even once. ![]()
I kept planning to dive in the next day, but the schedule had other plans. By checkout, all I had managed was to dip my toes into the water.
And the funniest part? My brain was still playing BTS’s SWIM in the background:
IYKYK! A beautiful pool, a BTS soundtrack in my head, and absolutely no swimming. BTSSSSSSSS, WHY DID THIS HAVE TO BE MY POOL EXPERIENCE?! ![]()
The gym also remained on my to-do list. I had plans to burn off those calories from my little cheat days, but apparently, my itinerary had other priorities. The facilities were great, though, and I genuinely regret not making time for them.
Food, Drinks & Little Discoveries
Amara has a lovely selection of separate dining and bar spaces, each with its own personality.
From Element, the all-day dining restaurant serving international fare, to Café Oriental for local Singaporean favorites, there are plenty of options to explore. The hotel also features a Lobby Bar, along with other dining venues offering Thai, Indian, Japanese, French and Chinese cuisines.
Breakfast at Element was a treat, with a generous spread of international and Asian dishes, fresh fruits, vegetarian options and live food stations. There was plenty to explore! For details you can Check out my given Review and detailed experience on maps.
I also appreciated the hotel’s location in Tanjong Pagar, with the MRT station just a short walk away. It made getting around so much easier.
Another Plot Twist: A Korean Pilot Appeared!

Just when I thought my hotel memories were complete, another unexpected character entered the storyline: a Korean pilot!
And could I possibly let that opportunity pass without mentioning my love for BTS, K-dramas and their ridiculously charming heroes? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
I shamelessly initiated a conversation, expressed my enthusiasm for all things Korean and then went straight for the ultimate request: a photograph together! I’m pretty sure he wasn’t expecting that level of enthusiasm from a random Local Guide, and his reaction was priceless. Later, we couldn’t stop laughing about the whole interaction.
And tadaaaaaa… here comes the picture! ![]()
![]()
And That’s a Wrap… Almost!
From the warm reception and comfortable room to the lovely poolside view, unexpected conversations and the people I finally got to meet in person, Amara became an important part of my Singapore chapter.
One little thing I wish I’d known before travelling: the hotel had a complimentary Sentosa Discovery Pass offer for eligible bookings. I discovered it only AFTER my trip. WHY, BRAIN, WHY? ![]()
Would I stay here again? Absolutely!
And if there’s a next time, I have three unfinished missions:
-
Actually swim in that beautiful pool.
-
Visit the gym and burn those cheat-day calories.
-
Make more time to talk to my fellow Local Guides instead of silently observing everyone like a documentary narrator.

Because this was more than a hotel stay. It was where my solo Singapore journey started turning into a collection of real-life connections and memories.
Until the next chapter of CONNECT LIVE 2026 CHRONICLES… ![]()
