Concern About Cross-Platform Account Integrity

Hello fellow Local Guides,

I’m a Level 9 contributor having 80’000+ contributions to Google maps with over 14M views and access to Maps Preview. Recently, my YouTube channel was terminated for “spam,” despite having no uploads or violations. My appeal was rejected without explanation.

I’m sharing this here because I value transparency and trust across Google platforms. Has anyone experienced similar issues where activity on one platform affected another? I’d appreciate any insights or advice.

Thanks for your time and contributions.

Hi @ArslanMalik

If you don’t follow the guidelines you do risk getting suspended from Connect. Bad contributions on Maps will get taken down and not shown publicly.

I have never heard or read about youtube violations getting consequences on Maps/Connect or vice versa. When you get suspended and appeal, then if not granted you are informed that other Google services like Gmail, and drive are not affected.

I hope this helps.

If you want one if us to check your Maps contributions let me know.

Thanks for your reply and concern Morten. Unfortunately you missed the fact that the account under discussion is not Google Maps account but my Youtube account and I am just asking the community if there are any other cases of account suspensions without a valid reason. It’s worth saying that I did not violate any community guidelines yet my Youtube account has been blocked.

Cheers,

Arslan

Sorry, let me try again. I have assisted hundreds of suspended Local Guides and the wast majority actually did violate some guidelines. In fact the guidelines are many, and they are not easy to find and follow, so no wonder rules get broken. There is a process in place to help Local Guides who are wrongfully suspended.

I can also tell you that 99% of suspended Local Guides are convinced they did not break any guidelines
