Communicating through the people-friendly way

Be it reviewing food at a small restaurant on the outskirts of the Sikkim, or reviewing ambience and service at the
Sofitel hotel in Mumbai, Google guide always has it prompts ready after your visit and i guess that’s what makes Google guide, the Local guide. Reviews might not be a big deal for you, and you might be a regular at a shop in your neighbourhood, but the impact your reviews have over the hundreds of people that may want to visit the place after you makes a difference.

And i have learned this in a good way!

Each new place you want to visit has kind of mixed thoughts, you may or may not like a place, but you would never know until you visit the place, hear or read reviews about that place. Local guides has it sorted for you, and its just a matter of entering those magic words on the Google search engine and you get everything you want to know, the food, ambience, staff, how costly the place is, road leading to the place, etc, and i guess this is what makes Local guide special and so close to the crowd.

The experiences i have had over the years has really fascinated me in ways that i finally sought out to become one among the countless other guides, whose views matter and , in real sense have positive impact on the people. We as guides do not just review a place, its what can help grow a business and also can bring out the best among countless others.

The motto behind the Local guide is just not the reviews and photos but also all those countless questions that you answer, edits you make and help select better picture for a place makes it more Eco-friendly, in true sense people-friendly. When someone checks reviews for a restaurant, no one expect to see photos of people eating their food in a restaurant or children playing. They want decent restaurant pictures and food options and presentation, and that’s why selecting either of the 2 photos really helps so that the next person to view them will see a more relevant picture of a place instead of one which does not relate at all.

The small businesses around you can also be benefited from the edits you make, by providing a more relevant photo, location, phone number, address and even naming that place correctly if it wasn’t already. This edits are reviewed through the Local guide community and only if accepted, is then finally updated to the main info.

I really wish i could contribute more to the community in coming years to help make Google a more cleaner and up to date information hub for the people.
