Coastal Charm & Dolphin Watching: A Family Day Trip to Cape May! 🐬🏠

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all doing well!

Today, I wanted to share a wonderful family outing we took recently to historic Cape May, New Jersey :sun:. As I mentioned in previous posts, summertime means a lot more outings and photowalks, and I tend to enjoy every bit of it! :cowboy_hat_face: :sparkling_heart: The spark for this trip came when we won a gift card for a dolphin and whale-watching cruise with Cape May Whale Watcher, INC :dolphin: :whale: , so we decided to make a full day of it and explore this famous seaside town—one of the most beloved summer destinations in the state for both local and international visitors. :sun:

It’s an easy one-hour drive from home along a very straightforward route: just hop on the Garden State Parkway and head straight south until you reach the very end at Exit 1—and boom, you’re in Cape May! :automobile:

We parked right downtown to explore as much as we could during the two hours leading up to our cruise. We stopped by the beautiful Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church :church: , located right at the entrance of a vibrant, brick-paved pedestrian walkway :dove:. This lovely promenade stretches for several blocks and is lined with picturesque shops and local eateries. We loved the overall atmosphere; it felt relaxed, charming, and had a wonderful ‘unplugged’ vibe.

We couldn’t resist wandering into a few of the shops and picked up a couple of fun souvenirs! As cruise time approached, we made our way to the marina for our three-hour tour. While we didn’t spot any whales this time around, we were treated to constant sightings of playful dolphins—a truly magic experience for all of us, especially my daughters!

After returning to shore, we spent the remaining daylight hours strolling through the historic streets, admiring the stunning Victorian-style architecture and taking in the sea breeze before sunset. We fell in love with every single corner of this coastal town and headed home grateful for such a memorable family getaway. :camera_flash:

See you all very soon… and don’t forget… #letsguide :sparkles:
