Clock tower of Shalini palace, Kolhapur

I was so impressed to see the post of our mentor
@TusharSuradkar Jis about clock and then I remember that in Kolhapur I saw clock towers. Today I want to share 1 clock tower which is placed at rankala lake area.
The place Shalini palace is well known place to all Maharashtrian. This palace is located on the West Bank of rankala lake. It is surrounded with palm trees and garden.
This palace is converted into 3 star hotel in 1987 which is used as a background in many Marathi and Hindi films. Because of heavy losses it is shut down and then given over to municipality.
It is closed now but you can watch out look of this palace. It is named by princess Shalini Raje as a Shalini palace.

Here you can see clock tower. It is very easily found when you can get love in the air signed amhi Kolhapuri.

If you want see this tower you can get rikshaw from bus stand, railway station easily.
You can enjoy boating here at evening time.
Big khau galli is here you can get variety of snacks items.

@Supriyadevkar I enjoyed reading about the Shalini Palace and the clock tower, which is such a beautiful example of Kolhapur’s past. It was interesting to see how the palace became a 3-star hotel in 1987 and had to be shut down before finally being handed over to the municipality.
The presence of palm trees, gardens, and proximity to Rankala Lake makes it quite beautiful. I have always been interested in food and would have loved to know about transportation options and nearby ‘Khau Galli’ for some of all snacks. It would be on my “places to visit” list on Google Maps. Keep Sharing more about Kolhapur, especially the making of kolhapuri chappals.

Impressive photos :+1:
I could never get the view of the lake looking at the boarding point and the Shalini Palace.
