Some people may have read my prior article, City Graffiti: Ximending, the Youth of Taipei City, an appreciation post about the graffiti and dynamic vibes in Ximending (西門町 in Chinese). This area is one of my favorite places to hang out with friends in Taipei City. And it’s also my first time to do a “Part 2” article in City Graffiti Series. Why? Because I can!
Just kidding. Actually, the graffiti area, The Walls, in Ximending is repainted routinely, thus the graffiti you see now won’t be there forever but only a few months, then it’d be covered by new graffiti. Isn’t it fun? Of course, there’d be some artworks that we hate to say goodbye to, but this tradition also makes tourists or street art amateurs like me treasure every visit more.
Today’s location
Ximending, a neighborhood and a shopping district in Taipei, Taiwan. It’s also the first pedestrian zone in Taiwan.
My favorite among these pieces is the Doraemon one. It’s done by FLEKS, a graffiti artist from the Netherlands. I really like the futuristic city vibes in his works.
