City Graffiti: Toronto Graffiti Alley, the Best Outdoor Gallery

As a person who loves graffiti and street art, one of my favorite things to do while traveling is wandering in the city and discovering beautiful wall paintings on unexpected corners (or more correctly, walls). Well, however, this one is definitely not unexpected.

From its name, Graffiti Alley, it’s clear that it should be an alley with a variety of graffiti. After a visit, it becomes one of my favorite places in Toronto, or, in Canada. It’s a cool place to walk around and see all these interesting graffiti done by local artists.

If you’re lucky enough, you may get the chance to watch artists working on their art pieces, which may smell but is indeed fun to watch. Also, since it’s an instagramicly cool place, you’d see many people taking photos. The day I took these pictures, there was an advertisement shooting there with many models, photographers, and staff.

Hi @TravellerG , thanks a lot!

Graffiti is one of my biggest passions while traveling to new places.

The camera I used wasn’t a pro camera. I took pictures simply with my phone (iPhone 7) since it’s easier to take around. I didn’t use filters for these pictures. We know that natural light is always the best filter and I was lucky to visit Toronto on sunny days ;). But if I’m posting on Instagram then it’d be another story lol.

Hi @saraswatN , thank you!

Yes, it became one of my favorite places in Canada after the visit.

Have you seen any graffiti or wall painting in the city you live?

Hi @IshantHP_ig @Explore_Keshav @TravellerG @saraswatN @VickyKrish , it’s fun and lovely to see how many people love graffiti and street art. I really love it! However, we all know that this kind of underground art is not allowed (or in another term, legal) in every city. But I think in most cases, as long as the property owner agrees, it’s okay to do it. In some cities, city halls even officially designate legal graffiti zones for local artists to shine.

Next time, maybe I could share graffiti collections from other cities, such as Montreal, NYC, and Reykjavik ;).
