Brooklyn is a giant borough in New York City (NYC) and is also the most popular one. However, before I made my visit to NYC, I didn’t know much about it. Wait, I may know some if T-shirts or tote bags inked with characters of “Brooklyn” or “Brooklyn Vibes” count lol. Back to the track, when I was browsing articles about Brooklyn, I found many of them are about DUMBO (which stands for “Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass”). For everyone visits NYC, it’s impossible not to notice the remarkable Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge which are connecting Brooklyn and Manhattan, and the neighborhood by the Brooklyn end of these two bridges, DUMBO, is a popular artsy hot spot. It’s common to see photographers and tourists trying to capture the magnificent view of these two bridges there. And don’t forget to try typical New York-style pizza at the famous Grimaldi’s or Juliana’s (I had one at Juliana’s and it was delicious).
Besides that, there’s one more place captured my attention, Williamsburg, and in this article, we’re going to focus on it. If you don’t have much time in NYC and ask people where to visit in Brooklyn, most answers you hear will be DUMBO, home to Jane’s Carousel, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and classic cobblestone streets, but if you have extra time and want to experience the so-called Brooklyn vibes, Williamsburg will be the one. There you can have beautiful views of the Manhattan skyline in East River State Park and enjoy your shopping, meals, and shots in incredible shops, restaurants, and bars. And of course, the amazing Graffiti!

The story behind the photos
My friend and I visited Williamsburg in the early morning and spent half a day there. Why go early? Since we’re two female travelers, it may not sound like a good idea to stay out too late in an area we aren’t familiar with. We took the subway to Bedford Av Station and had bagels as our breakfast at Bagelsmith Bedford, which is one of the best on my NYC bagel list (You can find it in The Top 5 Bagel Shops in NYC). Then, we took some walks in the neighborhood and started our food hunting, the apple pie of Pies ‘n’ Thighs, chocolate bars of MAST, the coffee of Partners Coffee, and the pizza of Joe’s Pizza. Why all food and where’s graffiti then? Well, graffiti is literally everywhere in Williamsburg. We didn’t have a graffiti route or map to follow, instead, we just roamed around, and all the graffiti I took were spotted unexpectedly.
Look back to our trip, I think it’s a brilliant idea to visit Williamsburg in the morning (or early afternoon) since we enjoyed the fresh calmness a lot and more importantly, could take as many graffiti (and street) pictures as we want without being bombed by random tourists (like us) which is impossible in DUMBO lol.
YOU GOOD?
